In the good news we heard about Osiris Rex. We have talked about that before. It is a project to collect material from an asteroid and bring it back to earth. Well it is back, and scientists have discovered the building blocks of life in the samples returned. That is big news, indeed. We also heard about the local Hideout restaurant buying basketballs for 250 kids.
It is time again for the AT&T Pro Am, so we know where Jacobi is going to be for the next few days. He reminisced about the tournament in the old days, before recent changes, but said it is going to be very good golfers and a great time.

Rosemary managed to find some good news stories around the recent fires.
Jaime Smith started off talking about chicken stock and turkey burgers. Bill then sidetracked him with discussion of the peanut butter and nannar sandwiches Elvis favored. Jaime suggested he even liked hamburgers with peanut butter and bannanas, and we found mention of them online. So, separately, both he and Rosemary will make these before next Wednesday, and that day we will compare notes. That should be episode 501.

John Hohmann told us of the Polar Plunge coming up in March, to benefit Special Olympics. Rosemary joins him for it every year. It seems this year Bill will as well.
Holland MacLaurie, port director of the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor discussed damage done in recent storms, and rebuilding that has been done since.
Rachael told of her secret plan to beat the early morning traffic.

We heard of a veteran's missing medals reunited with his family, and a San Francisco furniture store owner who willed a great sum of money to parks for benches.
Dawn Addis, Assemblymember for district 30 which includes Moss Landing, was with us in the second hour, talking about the recent fire there.
In the third hour John Laird, state senator, was with us to talk about the same thing, as well as the SB 38 which he authored, requiring battery power storage facilities to have emergency plans in place.
