Gary Shapiro let us know why he prefers Blue Rays to streaming, described The Godfather as perhaps a perfect movie, and did a quite passable impersonation of the lady who ran the Capitola Theater down in the village long ago. If you're thinking there is no theater in Capitola village, you are right, but there once was.

Jamie Smith taught us the proper marks to make when barbecuing chicken, and talked about recipes for barbecue sauce. Also there was some mention of a cupcake made of meatloaf and mashed potatoes, but that came from Rosemary.
Gary Shapiro had some interesting details about Desi Arnez and Lucille Ball, as well as his usual discussion of books he's read recently and authors he has interviewed.
Jeff Manke said crows are really smart. If you mistreat one they will remember your face. Ravens are not the same. He also said he made a recent trip to southern California where he went birding in eight counties, and saw 200 species, including one for the first time, the gull-billed tern. He described some quite fascinating imitation done by another species he saw, the zone-tailed hawk.

Dr. Pete let us know what to do if we believe a dog has eaten something poisonous. Dogs and cats can also have injuries inside their mouth, and often the cause is a foxtail. We also discussed snakebites.
Movies this week were pretty bad. Rosemary could only stomach one, the documentary film Deaf President Now. Alex had three picks all together, that one and Final Destination Bloodlines, as well as Sister Midnight.
Jim Coffis let us know all about the upcoming Redwood Mountain Faire.
