In the first hour Jacobi had a pretty good Sinatra story to tell us.
In the second, Gary Shapiro talked a bit of Sinatra too, but mostly movies, like Meet John Doe.
Tony del Zompo joined us in the studio in the final hour. He told us all about what lead to the writing of his book, 5150 - A Manic Depressive Adventure.

Jaime Smith talked Caribbean food, like fried plantains and dirty rice. He also told us he followed up on an earlier topic and made meatloaf cupcakes. They were good, but once was enough.
Gary Shapiro spoke with the author of Sweet And Deadly, a book about how Coca Cola kills us, then he told us about it. I recall no explanation as to why Pepsi and Royal Crown are given a pass.
Amber Roland is head of the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter. She let us know there will be free adoptions of all sorts of critters this weekend.
In the third hour Rachael Shelton and Dan Haifly were with us as well.

Gail Pellerin was at the pride parade yesterday, as were Rosemary and Bill. First she talked about that, then went on to tell us of current work on the budget, and what a challenge that is.
Mark Mozena visited. His budget-related news was discouraging, as it has been lately, but there was more to talk about than just that.
- White House withdraws the nominee to be NASA Administrator just a couple days before he was expected to be confirmed…lots of speculation as to why…
- On Friday, the White House released a more detailed budget. Proposed NASA budget cut by 25% - lowest budget since 1961 (adjusted for inflation). 50% reduction to science including canceling active missions already operating in space or flying to their destination. Also reducing the workforce by 1/3.
- JWST has discovered the earliest galaxy yet. Observing it at just 280 million years after the Big Bang. Named: MoM-z14
- European Space Agency beams Strauss’ Blue Danube waltz into deep space to honor his 200th birthday and ESA’s 50th birthday
- Strong aurora activities last night across northern US and Canada. Likely tonight as well. May be possible to see in California as well - get dark and look to northern horizon

Dr. Pete spoke today about people's relationship with dogs. Being with our pets can release endorphins in us, which feels good. We also learned how a dog can run on a broken leg. Also, what is his favorite gopher trap? It is the Gopherhawk.
Jacobi could not be with us yesterday, so called today instead. On his show Saturday he will have Tony Baker of Baker's Bacon. He and Rosemary raved about how much better it is than anyone else's. Bill wondered how that can be, but believed.
Becky Steinbruner let us know what will be on each hour of Community Matters. The first hour will feature Sally Arnold, discussing the Rail and Trail project. Hour two will have Brian Roder of Never Again Moss Landing, working to stop lithium BESS.

Rosemary was away one more time, so Mari Segura filled in again. Bill seemed to think their three to three maxing out the trivia contest was the first time he'd seen that result. His memory is not the greatest, though, so do not bet on that being so.

Rosemary was away, so Rachael Shelton took her place. She had interesting insights she has learned in law school to share. Copyright laws are not simple. Bill longed for those "bright line" divisions, but understood that is not practical.
Jaime Smith gave up some of his secrets for making really healthy food that closely mimics less healthy and wonderful tasting foods, like alfredo sauce.
