Gary Shapiro's homework for Bill was to watch two Humphrey Bogart movies. They are The African Queen and The Desperate Hours. Although it is not a Bogart movie, Cape Fear came up in conversation, and watching that, the original version, was also assigned. The River Wild was the movie Bill mistakenly remembered as being called Cape Fear, so it is a good thing Gary teaches film and not he.
Christina Wise is a recent addition to the board at Damian's Ladder. She was here to let us know about an upcoming event they are having at the local Moose lodge. It is a dinner on July 20th.
Alex Shaffer could not be with us, but we talked movies anyway. Rosemary's pick of the week was Kill The Jockey. She had selected one ahead of time that Bill would likely want to see and was right about that. It is Videoheaven.
We will have a "best of" episode in place of a live program tomorrow, during the Independence Day holiday.

Rachael Shelton filled in at the controls and for co-host for Bill today. She and Rosemary were joined by Alex talking movies, Charlie talking plants, Dr. Pete talking pets, and even managed to work in topics like traffic on Soquel, downtown development, the new manager of the county fair and more. The more included talk of a certain wedding in Venice, with lots of discussion of the fashions seen there, so perhaps it was a very good day to have Rachael take my place.
