In good news we heard of a couple who raised eleven million dollars by visiting a BnB in all 50 states in just 50 days, and then of the first woman umpire in major league baseball.
Officer Isreal Murillo of the highway patrol was in the studio to talk about all sorts of things only a CHP officer could. Especially interesting was how our local highway patrol members have reversed the upward trend in e-bike accidents by going out to schools and elsewhere and educating young people and parents about how to ride safely.

In good news we heard of a rent-a-grandma program in Japan. In Amsterdam they are building tiny sets of stairs to let unfortunate cats who have fallen into the canals have a way out and onto dry land again.
It turns out Jaime Smith is a really big fan of the Grateful Dead. While out here for their sixtieth anniversary concert, he enjoyed the local dim sum. More than talking about that, though we discussed melons. Different types of melons. Grilling melons. Pairing other foods with melons. Serve chilled or at room temperature?

In good news we learned of two people who died recently. Joan Anderson was the inventor of the hula hoop. Dan Peltzer was a marine who read 100 pages every day for 40 years.
We somehow established that Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson dating each other is "sweet."

In good news we heard of a town where ducks are escorted each day to a car park where they spend the night, of dogs surfing competitively in Pacifica, and of a tiny home village starting to go up in Watsonville.
In the ag report, Michael Olson set a GMMB record for longest acronym ever used. The UCANRUCCE is the University of California agriculture and natural resources University of California cooperative extension. Whew!

Today, after two attempts, we made soda.
It was perhaps the best week for movies ever. Of the seven reviewed, Rosemary considered five to be a pick of the week, and Alex picked six. These were the movies.
- The Naked Gun
- The Bad Guys 2
- She Rides Shotgun
- Souleymane's Story
- Architecton
- To Kill a Wolf
- Harvest
Neither would go see To Kill a Wolf and Rosemary found the Harvest trailer "too creepy."
Charlie Keutman spoke for a little on how things change over time, like plants blooming and leaves turning color earlier in the season than in years past. Then he spoke for a lot on blooming perennials.

In the good news we heard of a Russian fellow who plucked someone off railroad tracks just one second before a train passed, as well as of a lost dog that was rescued and finally, Rosemary got a garden hose.
Gary Shapiro told us all about the evolution of movies, from small square ones to wide screen, multiple screen and more, as well as how television influenced the changes in the movie studios.

In good news we heard of a nice lady who did a solid for a lost dog.
Jaime Smith talked about three things today: strawberries, strawberries and strawberries.
Gary Shapiro forewent speaking of books today, and instead shared many stories of his one-time idol and then good friend Tom Lehrer. The dalliance was worth it; the stories were good.
123 minutes after the show ended Bill received an e-mail message nagging him about being late getting this podcast uploaded. Maggie, I don't know if you read the descriptions or just listen to the shows, but in case you are reading this, it is not really nagging. It is nice to be missed. At 7:11 pm, nearly my bedtime, I am granting your wish. Thanks for listening, to everyone who does. :-)

In good news we heard of a new material called superwood, which sounds too good to be true.
We also heard again of local boy Ryder Walding, this time after he finished his paddle in Hawaii. Of the 38 competing in the world paddleboard championship, Ryder finished seventh.
Rachael Shelton told us of a sweet pair of twin ladies who live locally and had a meal paid for by a stranger.
Rachael had an alien that resembled and octopus climb into bed with her on her birthday, and she did not even mind. Or maybe rather than an alien it was an angel. You will have to listen and make your own guess.
