Mark Mozena's weekly report of space-related news was fairly grim.
- Last week was Space Symposium - largest annual space policy and leadership conference in the US. Strong themes around space in new geopolitical landscape and rethinking traditional partnerships
- This morning Gayle King, Katy Perry, and 4 others launched on the first all female crew - for a 10minute ride before returning to Earth
- White House gave passback to the agencies where they laid out enormous cuts to science and research in space - cutting weather programs and transferring space traffic management to a commercial entity as well as reducing nasa science funds by 50% (over all 20% cut to top level NASA, 70% cut to astrophysics, and 50% cuts to Earth Science and Heliophysics)
- Nominated NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman had his Hearing in the Senate last week. Little drama and will likely pass though his testimony is at odds to the passback numbers for NASA
- China performed “dogfighting” maneuvers in space that put systems on “high alert”.
- Possible strong Auroras on Wednesday after the sun blasts 2 CMEs towards earth
In the ag report, Michael Olson had Ron Hedicke with him, to discuss the hunt for a new CEO/Fair Manager for the Santa Cruz County Fair.
